Scrooge Cupcakes
There's no time for Scrooges this holiday season—except for these decadent cupcakes inspired by A Christmas Carol.
INGREDIENTS
CUPCAKES
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp. kosher salt
1 c. unsulphured molasses
1/2 c. unsalted butter, melted
1/2 c. dark brown sugar
1 large egg
1 c. sour cream
BUTTERCREAM FROSTING
1 lb. confectioners' sugar
1 c. unsalted butter
2 tbsp. heavy cream
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
ROYAL ICING
3 large eggs
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 lb. confectioners' sugar
